Photographing the future of UK Dentistry

With the UK currently experiencing a mass NHS dental shortage, It’s reassuring to know that these young, talented Postgraduate students, that I photographed on a recent shoot for Kings College London, will make up the next wave of dentists, orthodontists and even maxillofacial surgeons; looking after our ‘pearly whites’ in the future.

I’d been commissioned to shoot pictures in the university’s state of the art dental labs at London’s Guys Hospital. Images that showed their post-grad dentistry program as ‘hands-on, engaging, cool and innovative’ to encourage more young dental students to join their ranks, and add to the UK’s pool of skilled dental professionals.

It wasn’t difficult finding the shots with all the shiny hi-tech kit on show, and with the students so deeply absorbed, that they barely seemed to notice me ducking and diving around the classroom, laden with cameras and lights.
