Always by my side…….

One of my last big commissions of the year - this shoot for Guys & St Thomas’ Charity, is definitely one that stands out, and I will remember from 2021. In March 2020 Georgia contracted coronavirus and spent six weeks in intensive care and almost a month in a coma, during which time she was unable to see her family due to coronavirus visiting restrictions. She said she faced some of her darkest moments in that time, and the one thing that saved her, and got her through was being able to stay in contact with her family, thanks to an amazing secure virtual visiting video app created by the Life Lines project (to support families who were separated whilst being treated in intensive care during the pandemic).

What really stuck with me, was not only Georgias story of what she went through during her time in hospital and the months of rehabilitation learning to walk and talk again after that, but more the closeness of her family that helped to get her through, especially her husband and sister, whose incredible close bond and genuine love and warmth, clearly shone through on that day.

Whatever the last year has thrown at you, what ever challenges you have may have had to face, here’s looking forward to a positive year and making 2022 a year to remember.
